Shopping For the New School Year

 December 28th, 2018  |  16:30 PM  |   328 views

Bandar Seri Begawan

It is less than a week from the new school year and parents and guardians are on a spending spree to buy books, stationery and other necessities for their children. Members of the public service received their salaries and annual bonus today and are using the money first and foremost for their children's schooling needs.

The RTB News crew visited several book and shoe shops in Kampung Serusop and Kampung Kiulap areas, covering parents and guardians with their children and wards looking for text books, stationery, shoes and school uniforms. The twice monthly salary payment introduced this year is also used by some parents to buy the school necessities earlier than usual. The current Brunei Salebration offers attractive prices that make it easier of them to shop for the children's schooling needs.

All government and private primary, secondary schools as well as Institutes of Higher Learning will reopen on the 2nd of January for the first term of the 2019 school session.
