UTB Students Introduced New Website for Employers, Jobseekers

Out of an initial idea to assist fellow students in finding employment for their attachment year, a team of young undergraduate students from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) has developed a website that provides a digital marketplace for full-time and part-time freelancing job offers in Brunei.
The site tag-a-field.com, which also has a location map that jobseekers can use before responding to a vacancy, is a unique tailor-made database-driven website with a search engine; something that has never been done locally, in its scale, with these kinds of features.
It should provide an excellent one-stop window for employers, jobseekers and freelancers.
Tag-A-Field is a collaboration between two start-ups - Fieldclick Enterprise and TagLandMark Enterprise - both founded by third-year students at UTB's School of Business and School of Computing.
FieldClick Enterprise is currently an incubatee company at the iCentre.
Zuhairah binti Haji Mohd Taha, the Managing Director of FieldClick Enterprise, mentioned during an interview held at the iCentre that from the roadshows and surveys they conducted, it was found that the site attracts a lot of interest from both employers and jobseekers.
Meanwhile, FieldClick Lead Strategist Aiman bin Haji Minorhadi explained that at first, they wanted to build a digital platform that would help UTB students search for jobs for their attachment year, as it can be tough and at times mismatched.
He said that there are times when the job the students had were totally unexpected from the experience that they sought to get or the skill sets they hoped to acquire.
Zuhairah highlighted that as they were developing the website, an idea that the platform could actually serve a bigger role - in fact, the nationwide marketplace - came into being.
Aiman added that because of the possibility that it can serve a bigger audience, they wanted to give the site some flexibility for further developments, with the aim of eventually going regional, then global.
FieldClick Enterprise is a business development solutions company that focuses on fostering the development of human capital.
TagLandmark Enterprise, meanwhile, is a business development and IT solutions company, whose mission is to provide solutions and support for businesses to reach their goals and inspire a successful entrepreneurship culture.
