The plight of the fire and collapsed house victims in the country has gained the attention of His Majesty's government. Yesterday afternoon, the Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB, handed over contributions amounting 3 thousand 4 hundred dollars to the victims. The presentation of donations was held at the annexe building of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The contribution through MUIB's Poor and Destitute Tithe Collection was presented by Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Akop, Acting Secretary of MUIB.  Recipients comprised of collapsed houses in Kampung Saba Darat B on the 18th of December and fire victims in Kampung Mulaut as well as Kampung Tungku Indigenous Land Scheme, which occurred at the beginning and end of December last year. The assistance is hoped to alleviate the burden of the recipients.
