Institute of Brunei Technical Education will be offering a training programme Diploma (Level 5) in Hengyi Refinery Operator for this January intake. The programme is a joint collaboration between The Centre for Capacity Building (PPK), Hengyi Industries Sdn. Bhd and IBTE.

The 3-year programme will include 12 months institutional-based training at IBTE Jefri Bolkiah Campus in Kuala Belait; 12 months of institutional-based training at Lanzhou Petrochemical Polytechnic, China AND 12 months on-the-job training at Hengyi Petrochemical Plant in Pulau Muara Besar. Local and permanent residents aged 17 to 25 are eligible to apply for the programme. Applicants are required to register online via www.ibte.edu.bn/tvecas. The minimum application requirements of the programme is 5 GCE 'O' Levels credits in Mathematics or Additional Mathematics, English Language or English as a Second Language, Physics, Chemistry and at least one any English medium subject.

Other interested applicants who hold Brunei Darussalam Qualification Framework (BDQF) Level 4 qualifications in Higher National Technical Education Certificate (HNTec) or BDTVEC Diploma in Engineering background (Electrical Engineering/ Instrumentation and Control Engineering/ Marine Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Plant Engineering) must also have credits in Physics and Chemistry in GCE'O' Level /IGCSE Examination, may apply. Shortlisted applicants will be subjected to their medical fitness test, interview and written test as part of the admission and selection process. For those who are applying using their BDQF Level 4 qualifications, copies of the certificates must be sent to the Assistant Registrar of IBTE Jefri Bolkiah Campus latest by the 25th of February.
