Award of Royal Brunei Navy Command Badge

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Minister of Defence and the Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), has consented to award the Royal Brunei Navy Command Badge to the Chief of Navy, Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force, Admiral Yutaka Murakawa. The award is in recognition and appreciation for his service in enhancing relations between the Royal Brunei navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force.

 

The award was presented by Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.  Admiral Yutaka Murakawa took over as the Chief of Navy, Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force since 2016. Whilst in Brunei Darussalam, he also made courtesy calls to the Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Defence as well as the Commanders of the RBAF and the Royal Brunei Navy. During the courtesy call to the Commander of the RBAF, Admiral Murakawa was congratulated and given appreciation for the award of the Royal Brunei Navy Command Badge. Both sides discussed defence cooperative activities between the two armed forces and hoped for more progress in the near future.
