His Majesty House Keys Presentation

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday morning presented house keys under the Lugu Cluster Houses as well as Panchor Mengkubau, Meragang and Tanah Jambu Terrace Houses under the National Housing Scheme, and Terrace Houses under the Kampung Lugu Indigenous Citizens Housing Land Scheme for the Brunei Muara District. More than 500 recipients received the house keys at a ceremony which took place at the Chancellor Hall, University Brunei Darussalam.

 

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia INSINYUR Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development; Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar Bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs; and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office. The function began with a reading of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Awang Haji Mohd Shah bin Haji Taip, Brunei Muara District Syariah Subordinate Court Judge.

 

Awang Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, Brunei Muara District Officer in his welcoming speech, said the presentation of the house keys shines a light on the lives of the 545 recipients and a more comfortable shelter with their families.

 

4 hundred and 89 recipients received keys to cluster type houses under the Lugu National Housing Scheme, 24 received keys to terrace houses under the Panchor Mengkubau National Housing Scheme, 10 were awarded keys to terrace houses under the Meragang National Housing Scheme, 3 received terrace houses under the Tanah Jambu National Housing Scheme and 19 recipients were awarded terrace houses under the Kampung Lugu Indigenous Citizens Housing Land Scheme. His Majesty's presence at the house keys presentation portrays the monarch's care and attention towards the well-being of the people as well as instilling community unity in the country.

 

The government of His Majesty through the Housing Development Department continues its efforts in the implementation of several housing programmes nationwide to increase the supply of houses that fulfil the needs and wants of the country's citizens. This is in line with His Majesty's Vision and Wawasan Brunei 2035 which is to enhance the life quality of the Brunei Darussalam citizens and residents towards a guarantee wellbeing.

 

To bless the ceremony, doa selamat was read by Brunei Muara District Syari'ah Subordinate Court Judge.

 

With His Majesty's just leadership, the citizens and residents of the country in particular those who do not possess their own land can together enjoy welfare, safety and well-being through the national housing scheme which continues to develop in line with current progress.
