​His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, today received in audience Her Excellency Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The Audience Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.

Accompanying Her Excellency Valentina Matvienko were His Excellency Vladlen Semivolos, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Brunei Darussalam; and His Excellency Iliyas Umakhanov, Deputy Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Representative of the Executive Authority of the Republic of Dagestan. Also present were Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, Speaker of the Legislative Council; and Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Judin bin Haji Asar, Secretary of the Cabinet Ministers' Council and Clerk to the Legislative Council.
