"Discover Muara" Promotion Provides Exposure to Tour Packages & Places of Interest in the Country

Every year, an average of 15 cruise ships carrying about 400 to 3,000 passengers in every cruise arrives at the Muara Port. While the annual average, more than 60,000 tourists from Eastern part of Malaysia such as Sabah and Labuan arriving by ferry at the Serasa Ferry Terminal. With the strategy to introduce more attractions near the Centre of the Cruise Ship and Ferry Terminal which are hoped to provide more comfort to the passengers who are travelling to this country. The remarks were made by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism. Yang Berhormat added with the increasing number of people opting for holiday on the cruise ship, the cruise industry will further enhance the country's economic sector. The Minister expressed the hope while launching the "Discover Muara" promotion at the Centre of the Cruise Ship in Muara yesterday morning.
Various activities are also lined up during the launching such as mini exhibition organised by the local tour operators, souvenir shops, Village Consultative Council and various types of dishes from restaurants in Muara. "Discover Muara" promotion is one of the initiatives of Tourism Development Department to continue promoting efforts to highlight attractive tourist spots and packages offered in the country. Also present were Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Othman, and Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Hamid @Sabli bin Haji Arsad, Members of Legislative Council.
