Passing Out Parade of the 8th PKBN Intake

​During the Passing Out Parade of the 8th Intake, six trainees received awards for being the best in various fields. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam presented the awards.

 

Upon arrival at the PKN Training Camp Parade Ground in Kampung Batu Apoi, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat (Retired) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Muhd Shah Al-Islam, the Commissioner of Police, Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and Datin Paduka Doktor Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

 

 Shortly after the arrival, His Majesty received the Royal Salute and inspected the Guard of Honour.  The 100-days programme involved 388 trainees comprising 246 males and 142 females.

 

 The PKBN is a national programme designed towards holistic improvement in youth development with activities that are capable of creating and producing youths who are loyal and patriotic to the Monarch, race and religion.

 

 With the Passing Out ceremony, the PKBN has now produced two thousand and five hundred forty one PKBN alumni. The community service conducted in the PKBN has improved the voluntary spirit of the trainees. This was achieved by taking part in community activities and social service work.

 

His Majesty then presented awards to the six best trainees of the 8th Intake. Awang Muhammad Muazam bin A. Rahman and Dayang Syahirah Binti Awang Muhamad were the Best Male and Female trainees in Parade.

 

The best trainees in Physical Training were Awang Abdul Azim Mohamed @ Abdul Haziq Bin Abdullah dan Dayang Siti Norhalizah Binti Herman.

 

 

Awang Mohammad Aiman Azizi Bin Awang Kamal dan Dayang Nur Marsya Binti Mohd Rashidi were selected as the Best Overall Male and Female trainees.

 

 Doa selamat was read by Awang Abdul Qaiyum Bin Haji Metusin, the PKBN Religious Officer.

 

The establishment of the PKBN is in line with the aspiration of the National Youth Policy to produce Excellent Bruneian Youths in the Brunei Mould which combines several aspects such building the identity of excellent Bruneian youths. The National Service Programme or the PKBN is an example of programmes that promise high hope because they are believed to be capable of producing good, highly disciplined youth with strong self-identity.
