A total of 93 million, 810 thousand dollars have been allocated for the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism budget for the Financial Year 2019/2020. The allocation included the annual Development Expenditure. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism in his deliberations on the budget shared on the development of activities under the ministry in line with the ministry's mission to enhance the product growth of the country's agriculture, fisheries and tourism sectors.
Yang Berhormat said the country's agriculture sector product has shown an increase, from 365 million dollars in 2015 to 436 million in 2018. From the aspect of self-sufficiency capability, the country has almost reached one hundred percent self-sufficiency in the supply of broiler and egg-laying chickens, around 47% for vegetables supply and around 37% self-sufficiency for the supply of fruits. For supply of meat is thirty percent self-sufficiency but dependence on rice imports is still high. The fisheries sector product shows a decrease from 110 million in 2015 to 109 million in 2018.
