The 2019 World Book and Copyright Day has enabled people to discover, make the most of and explore in greater depth a multitude of aspects of the publishing world. Books are vectors of values, knowledge and depositories of the intangible heritage, and they are also windows onto the diversity of cultures and tools for dialogue. Therefore books should be cherished as the valuable tool for knowledge-sharing, mutual understanding and openness to a diversified world. These were stated by Yang Berhormat Dayang Khairunnisa binti Awang Haji Ash'ari, Member of the Legislative Council during the launching of 'The 2019 World Book and Copyrights Day', yesterday morning. The event took place at Multipurpose Hall of the Meragang Sixth Form Centre.

 

In conjunction with the World Book and Copyright Day, several activities were also held. The event which is celebrated every 23rd of April carry the theme 'Share a Story.' The event ran concurrently with the presentation of prizes to the winners of the competitions, such as English Oratory and Scrabble Master Competitions. It was organised by the English Department, Meragang Sixth Form Centre in collaboration with the Parents-Teachers Association, PIBG of the centre.
