​The British High Commission in Brunei Darussalam held a Reception Ceremony in conjunction with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second's 93'rd birthday celebration. The ceremony took place at a hotel in Jerudong, 24th April.

 Representing the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the ceremony was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs. In his speech, His Excellency Richard Lindsay, the British High Commissioner to the country underlined the close relations between the United Kingdom and Brunei Darussalam. He said that the reception carries the theme 'sustainability' as it reflects so many of the values which are part of the close relationship between the United Kingdom and Brunei Darussalam.
