In the effort to become highly learned Al-Quran memorisers in this challenging era, new students of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Quran Institute - ITQSHHB, must always show good behaviour or the character of al-Quran. Islam teaches the ummah that the moral aspect is placed very highly and even above knowledge. This indicates that pure values are very important in Islam. The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs made the remarks during the enrolment of new Year 7 students at the Institute yesterday morning. The students are from the 28th Intake.

Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abd Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof who is also the Deputy Chairman of the ITQSHHB board said becoming a hafiz is a privilege because a hafiz is dear to Allah Subhanahu Wataala and respected by the community.

The ceremony continued with the handover of Mushaf Al-Quuran to the students. This year 77 students comprising 32 boys and 45 girls are joining the institute. Yesterday's ceremony was the climax of the Orientation Week that began on the 6th of this month. Also present was Pengiran Haji Amiruddin bin Pengiran Haji Damit, the institute's Acting Principal. Several parents expressed gratitude for their children's acceptance.
