This Morning viewers certainly had a shocking wake-up call today thanks to a very nimble 100-year-old gymnast.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield looked on amazed as centenarian Marian appeared on the programme to put everyone to shame.

Despite being born two years after the end of the First World War, Marian is clearly in much better shape than us, as she sat on the This Morning sofa and quite happily obliged Holly and Phil by stretching both her legs to the top of her head.

Much like us, the daytime TV duo looked like they couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

‘I think that is so impressive,’ Holly gushed. ‘That’s just amazing!

‘You are amazing. You’re like a human pretzel!’

We actually couldn’t have put it better ourselves, Holly. A 100-year-old human pretzel, we truly do love to see it.

And it seems like the feeling was mutual for many fans who were watching the event unfold back home.

One viewer wrote: ‘I’m feeling distinctly un-bendy now, that lady is 100-years-old! Amazing!’

Another added: ‘I’m 29 and can’t get my legs passed my belly nevermind my head, she’s amazing!’
