Pug Attacked In The Park By Another Dog ‘Could Have Lost An Eye’ Comment

A pug was attacked while out for a walk in a Manchester park, leaving her with a deep wound to her face.

Micheala Jenkins, 26, was walking Winnie with her boyfriend, along with their two other dogs.

She says that a couple with a Border Collie, which was on a stretchy lead, approached on Tuesday afternoon in Heaton Park.

Her pug Winnie thought the dog was being friendly and made as if to play with it, but the other dog attacked, biting her on the face and shaking her around, leaving a deep puncture mark.

She had to have bandages put around her head to treat her after the incident.

Michaela wrote on Facebook afterwards: ‘The dog then tried to go for my smallest dog as well which she may not have survived due to her small frame.

‘The woman then said to my boyfriend “Oh he doesn’t like small dogs.”

‘WHY they didn’t say that before or maybe NOT walk directly over to us when they could have easily gone around to avoid the situation I do not know, it is complete irresponsibility and had their dog have bitten a bit to the side she would have lost her eye.’

She wrote that she had asked the couple for their details, but they refused to give them saying that this was just part of owning a dog.

‘I will be contacting the police,’ she added.

‘Accidents happen, but this was not an accident as it could easily have been avoided if they just used their heads and didn’t put my dogs in unnecessary danger.’
