Bank highlights Client Service Charter pledge

Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) joined the people of the Temburong District in celebrating the 80th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, while reaffirming its commitment to service excellence through the sharing of its Client Service Charter pledge.

Introduced in January 2026, the BIBD Client Service Charter reflects the commitment of the bank to delivering a higher standard of customer experience by fostering a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement across the organisation. The charter represents a pledge by every employee to consistently deliver exceptional service and uphold the trust placed in the bank.

As the leading financial institution of the Sultanate, BIBD continues to invest in developing its workforce through initiatives aimed at strengthening knowledge, enhancing professional capabilities, and cultivating leadership qualities that empower employees to serve customers and contribute to national development.

Central to these efforts is the belief that leadership carries an amanah to guide, inspire, and lead by example. This commitment reflects the emphasis of His Majesty on the importance of leadership in achieving national aspirations.

The sharing of the charter at the get-together ceremony aligns the service culture of the bank with traditional values such as courtesy, humility, respect, and compassion.

BIBD has collaborated with the Department of Adat Istiadat Negara to deepen awareness of Bruneian customs and works with local higher education institutions to promote discussions on service excellence through the lens of Maqasid Syariah.

Commenting on the initiative, BIBD Acting Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Haji Mohammad Yusri bin Haji Wahsalfelah said, “Service excellence is a journey of continuous improvement. We will continue to develop and strengthen our people, because our employees are our greatest asset in delivering positive experiences for our customers and communities. By investing in leadership, capability development and values-driven service, we are supporting the aspirations of Brunei Vision 2035 and creating lasting value for Brunei Darussalam.”
