Enlivening atmosphere of mosques through the recitation of Surah Al-Kahfi, particularly on Fridays, is an encouraged practice in Islam as it contains valuable lessons that strengthen faith and enhance piety.
Penghulu of Mukim Kota Batu Rasli bin Taram said this while attending and participating in a collective recitation of Surah Al-Kahfi with the mosque takmir committee and congregants following the Subuh congregational prayer at Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque early Friday morning.
“We are always encouraged to enliven mosques through congregational prayers, religious knowledge sessions, Al-Quran recitations and various religious activities that strengthen ties among members of the community,” he said.
He said he is pleased with the efforts of the Mosque Takmir Committee of Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque to remain active in enlivening the mosque through religious activities that foster greater love for the mosque.
With careful and well-organised planning, he expressed confidence that the Mosque Takmir Committee would continue to raise public awareness and encourage more people to participate in religious activities, thereby attracting more congregants to the mosque.
Village Head of Kampong Sungai Besar, Kampong Serdang and Kampong Sungai Belukut Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Awang Haji Zaini bin Haji Damit, and Second Adviser of the Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque Takmir Committee Haji Mohidin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman were also present.
Also joining the religious gathering at the mosque was Acting Director of Mosque Affairs Amirhisam bin Haji Masri.
The programme began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by collective Selawat. The recitation of Surah Al-Kahfi was led by Kampong Sungai Besar Mosque imam Pengiran Hassan Basri bin Pengiran Haji Ismail, who led the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan, Raja Isteri and Negara Brunei Darussalam.
