Members of the public, particularly students seeking to pursue tertiary education in Malaysia, can engage directly with representatives from 22 leading Malaysian universities and higher education institutions at the Yes2Malaysia Education Malaysia Expo Edition Brunei, currently taking place at the Mulia Hotel until today.
Visitors turned up on the opening day yesterday for the August edition, which once again brought Malaysian higher education opportunities directly to students and families in Brunei Darussalam, marking the 18th year of the Yes2Malaysia initiative in the Sultanate.
Jointly organised by MEG Educational Services and Rexpocentral Sdn Bhd, the exhibition provides a dedicated platform for students, parents, educators, and prospective applicants to consult directly with academic representatives.
This year’s edition features 22 participating institutions offering a comprehensive spectrum of academic programmes and pathways, covering medicine, engineering, information technology, business, law, education, hospitality, culinary arts, design, and other professional disciplines.
Among the participating institutions are Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), Taylor’s University (International), Taylor’s College (Local), Le Cordon Bleu (LCB), MAHSA University, Multimedia University (MMU), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), Brickfields Asia College (BAC), Universiti Malaya (UM), Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus, IMU University, University of Cyberjaya (UoC), HELP University, Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), and Sunway University.
Supported by the High Commission of Malaysia in Brunei Darussalam, the event reflects the longstanding educational cooperation and close people-to-people ties between both nations.
The organisers were honoured by the presence of High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam Datok Mohd Aini Atan, who welcomed participating university delegates and toured the exhibition booths.
During the visit, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam Datok Mohd Aini Atan interacted with institution representatives and attendees, underscoring the importance of strengthening educational linkages between Malaysia and Brunei while fostering greater regional opportunities for students to pursue quality tertiary qualifications.
The event recorded an overwhelming response, with visitors taking advantage of the direct consultations to seek guidance on entry requirements, explore scholarship options, and understand available study pathways.
The strong turnout highlights sustained local demand for Malaysian higher education and the effectiveness of a consolidated platform for obtaining verified academic information.
The 2026 exhibition marks 18 consecutive years of the Yes2Malaysia presence in the Sultanate, during which it has served as a key link between Malaysian institutions and the Bruneian academic community. – James Kon
