Muslims were urged to safeguard their aqidah by adhering firmly to the teachings and guidance brought by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
The reminder was delivered during the dawn talk ‘Nabi Muhammad Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam Suluh Aqidah’ by Religious Development Officer and Assistant Head of the Dakwah Development (Conversion) Division at the Islamic Da’wah Centre under the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Muskrisman Safari bin Haji Mustapa.
Held as part of the ‘Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat’ programme at Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital on Friday, Haji Muskrisman Safari emphasised that safeguarding one’s aqidah is of paramount importance, particularly by following and adhering to the teachings conveyed by the Prophet (pbuh).
He highlighted the Prophet’s (pbuh) struggle in upholding the true aqidah and belief in the Oneness of Allah the Almighty, noting that his mission faced numerous challenges and obstacles.
Despite these difficulties, the strength of faith, piety, patience, and firm conviction enabled Islam to flourish and continue spreading to this day.
He called on Muslims to collectively safeguard and preserve their aqidah to ensure that it remains firmly on the right path, reminding congregants that deviating from the true aqidah could expose an individual to the severe punishment of Allah the Almighty.
As such, Muslims were encouraged to continually return to Allah the Almighty through sincere repentance, or taubat nasuha.
The programme commenced with a mass Subuh prayer, followed by the recitation of wirid and the dawn talk.
The programme aimed at encouraging Muslims in the country to enliven mosques through congregational worship, religious learning, and various Islamic activities.
It also seeks to nurture a disciplined and responsible society that respects one another, while fostering love and attachment towards mosques as the houses of Allah the Almighty.
The initiative supports the cultivation of the spirit of a Zikir Nation and Negara Berkat through the practice and appreciation of Islamic teachings in daily life, contributing towards the country’s wellbeing and prosperity based on Islamic values.
