Five veteran athletes from Brunei Darussalam left for Salatiga, Java, in Indonesia yesterday to take part in the track and field event at the Salatiga Masters Athletics Championships on August 5-7.

The group was led. by Awang Haji Abu Bakar Bin Haji Pungut, Secretary II of the Veteran Athletes Association.

Present to bid them farewell at the airport yesterday was Deputy President of the Association, Haji Adanan Bin Dato Paduka Haji Abu Bakar.

They will take part in discuss throw, shot put, 100 metre run,1500 metre, 3000 metre run and long jump.

Out of the five athletes, two departed earlier via Miri.
