'Streamlining' Of Safe Management Measures Will Start Later, To Be Rolled Out At One Go Instead Of In Phases: MOH

Aaron Low/TODAY | Existing Covid-19 safe management measures will remain in place in the meantime.

SINGAPORE

The streamlining of Covid-19 safe management measures will be delayed to a later date in view of the current surge in daily cases and the extensive work involved in the streamlining process, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Thursday (Feb 24).

This means that measures that were meant to start on Feb 25, such as resumption of team sports and household visits by up to give guests at any one time, will no longer happen on Friday.

The ministerial taskforce handling Singapore's Covid-19 response had announced on Feb 16 that existing Covid-19 safe management measures would be streamlined for easier understanding and compliance, with the changes implemented in phases on Feb 25 and March 4.

The changes included allowing groups of five to visit homes at any one time, social gatherings of up to five persons at workplaces, adjustments to vaccination-differentiated safe management measures for unvaccinated children aged 12 years and below, and the resumption of team sports.

“The MTF has reviewed the matter and has decided to consolidate and streamline the SMMs (safe management measures) in one go instead,” added MOH.

Existing Covid-19 safe management measures will remain in place in the meantime.
