The Friendship between Brunei Darussalam and Bangladesh are based on mutual respect, trust and cultural similarities. Both countries bilateral relations strengthened more through cooperation in other sectors. This was highlighted by the Bangladesh High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam during a Reception to commemorate the 51st Independence and National Day of Bangladesh. It was held last night at the Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong.

Representing His Majesty's Government was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali Bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism. Her Excellency Mrs Nahida Rahman Shumona, the Bangladesh High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam highlighted several cooperations between the two countries including the presence of approximately 20 thousand Bangladeshis in Brunei working as workers and professionals in oil and gas, infrastructure development and landscaping sectors. Her Excellency added efforts will continue to be carried out which includes direct air services between the two countries and cooperation in other sectors.
