66 percent of judgments at all levels of court were delivered between 1 to 3 months. Speaking at the Opening of the Legal Year 2022, The Honourable Dato Paduka Steven Chong, the Chief Justice also explained that the Practice Direction which took effect from December 2021 as alternative dispute resolution for matters involving family law disputes. The ceremony took place the Supreme Court in Bandar Seri Begawan, yesterday morning.

Meanwhile, Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ahmad bin Pehin  Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Di-Raja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa, Attorney General in his speech touched on the development of Attorney General Chamber, including career development that will continue to be a priority for the AGC with a competency framework now in place. Also present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Di-Raja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa bin Pehin Datu Perdana Manteri Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Ibrahim, Special Advisor to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office. Over 200 individuals participated in the online event.
