The Minister of Home Affairs informed the COVID-19 Steering Committee has announced on the updates of the guidelines for the public gathering which will be implemented from Friday, 1st of April 2022.

The mass gatherings are permitted with maximum capacity of public premises including halls and restaurants OR a maximum capacity of 300 people, whichever is the lesser number.  Maximum capacity of public premises is subject to physical distancing of at least one meter between tables in restaurants, or one meter between chairs for other mass gathering events. Meanwhile, the capacity for mass gatherings in home residences is still maintained at a maximum of 30 people excluding host of event. The COVID-19 Steering Committee also remind the public, particularly owners of restaurant and eateries, that preparation of food in the form of buffet in restaurants or home residences is still not permitted.
