In the afternoon session, ISHTaH continued with a special presentation session for local and international presenters held virtually.

 

Pengiran Doctor Hajah Norkhariah binti Pengiran Haji Hashim from the Halalan Thayyiban Research Centre, UNISSA tabled a working paper titled 'Maqasid Syariah as a Framework for Halal Tourism in Brunei Darussalam'. The working paper underlined that halal tourism framework in the country needs to be based on Maqasid Shariah so that halal tourism services are guaranteed halal.

 

Meanwhile, Doctor Fahmi Zaidi bin Abdul Razak tabled a working paper titled 'Halal Tourism: Current Issues, Opportunities and Challenges'. The working paper highlighted the demands for halal tourism which have penetrated the global market. Whereas another working paper, 'Opportunities and Challenges of Halal Tourism based on Cultural and Environmental Values in Indonesia Post COVID-19 Pandemic' was presented by Professor Doctor Heri  Pratikto.
