The launch of the Digital Technology Week was jointly organised by the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, InfoCom Federation Brunei, IFB and Universiti Teknologi Brunei, UTB took place yesterday morning.

The launching ceremony was jointly officiated by Yang Berhormat Pengiran Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism and Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohammad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. 40 agencies from the government and private sectors showcase initiatives and products that support digital transformation.

The Minister of Transport and Infocommunications launched the Brunei Computer Emergency Response Team's website which aims to provide access to information to the public on online cyber security issues through social media, cyber-bullying, online predators and cyber security for children.

Dayang Hajah Ilyasuraini Binti Dato Paduka Haji Hamdani, e-Government National Centre System Manager said the selection of this theme is appropriate to the situation since the COVID-19 pandemic in which digital technology continues to be further improved in terms of its use and is now being adapted by the general public as a new normal for the continuity of a challenging life.
