Cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the United States is growing in host of areas, ranging from enhancing regional security to combatting climate change to strengthening people-to-people connections through professional and academic exchange programmes. This was stated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to the country at the 246th U.S Independence Day Reception.

Representing the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health.

In her remarks, Her Excellency Caryn McClelland said that the COVID-19 pandemic has forced both countries to be more creative on collaboration to solve mutual challenges for the betterment of the two countries and Indo-Pacific region. The event was held last night at U.S Ambassador Official Residence in Kampung Katok.
