A new Identity Card system will begin to operate in stages at the Department of Immigration and National Registration's Headquarters and branches starting Wednesday, 10th August 2022.

 

In a press release, the Department of Immigration and National Registration informed that at the trial stage, registration is only open to those who have reached the age of 12, specifically for Brunei Darussalam citizens and permanent residents. Applicants are to bring the required documents, and registration forms can be downloaded at immigration.gov.bn. Meanwhile, registration counters at the Belait, Temburong and Tutong District branches will be closed 12 in the afternoon on the 9th of August 2022 so that preparations can be made to ensure the new system runs smoothly.
