387.1 Kilogrammes Waste Collected

In Brunei Darussalam, every person in the country produces an average of 1.15 kilogrammes of solid waste daily, making the country as one of the countries highest solid waste producing countries in ASEAN. Therefore, Brunei Darussalam has set a target of 1 kilogramme solid waste for every person daily by 2035.
Speaking at the Beach Clean Up Campaign Programme yesterday morning, His Excellency Dato Raja Reza bin Raja Zaib Shah, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, praised the Government of Brunei Darussalam's step in urging its people to practise the 3-R's, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle in conserving the environment. The programme was carried out in conjunction with the National Day of Malaysia which will be celebrated on the 31st of August. It was jointly organised by the Malaysian High Commision, Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme, MTCP Alumni and Green Brunei.
