Reading can open the door to success and excellence for an individual apart from its impact on the development and progress of the country. Through reading can also shape the intellectual direction and identity of a society. The Deputy Permanent Secretary For Culture at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports stated the matter while inauguration the Teratak Setiawan Reading Corner, at the Teratak Setiawan guesthouse, Kampung Bolkiah 'A', 30th October morning.

Doctor Dayang Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah said, knowledge is also a weapon and shield so that a person can evaluate things critically and analytically. In fact, it is clear that with knowledge a person will become a civilized, intelligent and will not be easily deceived.

Towards producing educated and successful people, the Language and Literature Bureau established another special reading corner for the residents of Kampung Bolkiah A and its surroundings as well as the visitors of Teratak Setiawan Homestay. A reading corner called Teratak Setiawan, founded by Awang Haji Abu Zar bin Haji Ahmad. 200 books and magazines in Malay and English are available for different levels of readers at the corner.
