2 business premises were found to be in violation of the Price Control Act, Chapter 142 during a joint operation held yesterday morning at Pasaraneka Kuala Belait and business premises in Belait District.

 

During an inspection by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, DEPS through the Department of Consumer Affairs together with the Weights and Measures, SDT Unit, the Industry and Business Ecosystem Division under the Ministry of Finance and Economy, FAIRosdin Sendirian Berhad was issued two 500 dollar compound fines for the offences of selling above the set maximum price for some cooking oil products and for not displaying the price tags clearly.

 

Meanwhile, Syarikat Jaya Hypermart Sendirian Berhad was given a Warning Notice for selling above the set maximum price for some cooking oil products and infant milk formula.

 

While the SDT Unit issued a Confiscation Notice to an owner of a measuring and weighing equipment with expired registration. The equipment was seized in accordance with the Measures and Weights Act 1983 Chapter 151, Review Regulations 1994 Chapter 3(1) and (2).

 

Meanwhile, two Warning Notices were given to two companies for failing to display net weight labels on packaged products.
