Party Secretary General Visits Oudomxay

(KPL) On Jan 21-22, Party Secretary General and State President Thongloun Sisoulith paid a working visit to Oudomxay Province.

 

He was greeted by Party Secretary and Governor of Oudomxay Bounkhong Lachiemphone and other local leaders, senior officials of armed forces and representatives of mass organizations.

 

Meeting with the standing committee of the provincial Party, the Party Secretary General urged them to strengthen solidarity, up hold the national interest in line with the principles of the Party and play a leading role in leading by example for civil servants, Party members and people.

 

The Secretary General also visited the Namko development project in Xay district. The project includes the construction of 1.32 km of embankment, a 1.18-ha park, a weir and one water control gate. Being built by a Chinese firm Guangdong Water Management Company, the project is expected to be fully completed by the end of this month.

 

He also observed the post-flood rehabilitation of people’s farmlands in La district, visited a cold storage warehouse which is used for keeping agricultural products of local people and a cargo handling station of the Laos-China Railway Company in Xay district. The station handles goods from the province and its neighbours.
