LABUAN BAJO, REPUBLIK INDONESIA

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah is pleased with the continued momentum to provide space and support for the youth to contribute to building a resilient and dynamic ASEAN. To this end, His Majesty states, ASEAN commended the convening of the ASEAN-Youth Dialogue last April, which aimed to make digital development equitable and inclusive in Southeast Asia towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs. In this regard, the youth have an important role in advancing and accelerating the work in achieving the SDGs as they are more adept to utilising technology. His Majesty made the titah while attending the ASEAN Leaders' Interface with Representatives of ASEAN Youth at Meruorah Convention Centre, Labuan Bajo, Republic of Indonesia.

At the session, ASEAN Leaders and representatives of ASEAN Youth, among other things, discussed on the role of the youth as future leaders towards enhancing sustainable development in the region. His Majesty in the titah encourages ASEAN to continue providing opportunities for the youth to harness their potential and contribute towards achieving the SDGs, as well as in realising the ASEAN Community Vision 2025.

During the ASEAN Leaders' Interface With Representatives of ASEAN Youth, Brunei Darussalam was represented by Awang Muhammad Zainul-Akhyaar bin Amer Hairunuddin from the Prime Minister's Office, and Dayang Siti Rafhanah binti Haji Nor Hasnul, a student at Universiti Teknologi Brunei.
