JAKARTA

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has appointed a number of officials from within his administration to replace regional leaders whose terms are ending in the coming months, including potential election contenders Ganjar Pranowo of Central Java and Ridwan Kamil of West Java.

The 10 names to be appointed interim governors were decided in a final meeting with the assessment team, said Ali Mochtar Ngabalin, lead expert staffer at the Executive Office of the President (KSP).

“Yes it is true. It was decided by the President yesterday on Thursday in a meeting with the assessment team,” Ngabalin confirmed on Friday, as quoted by Kompas.com.
