His Majesty arrives in Riyadh

​His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, arrived in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to attend the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council, G.C.C. Summit which will be held on the 20th of October 2023. Accompanying His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.

 

Upon arrival at King Khalid International Airport, His Majesty was welcomed by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region; His Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of Riyadh Region; His Excellency Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the G.C.C.; and His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Buraithin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam.

 

Also present were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs; and His Excellency Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Yusoff bin Haji Awang Ismail, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The ASEAN-G.C.C. Summit, will be co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Indonesia, as the Chair of ASEAN in 2023. At this Summit, ASEAN and G.C.C. Heads of State and Government will gather for the first time since ASEAN-G.C.C. relations were formally established in 1990, and discuss ways to further strengthen ASEAN-G.C.C. relations as well as advance collaboration on issues of mutual interest such as climate change.
