30th Civil Service Day Celebration

The culmination of this year's Civil Service Day celebration was the presentation of the Public Sector Performance Grading Programme; Premier Innovation Award; Excellent Civil Service Employee Award; and the Civil Service Staff Meritorious and Dedication Award. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam presented the awards.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Yang Di-Pertua of Adat Istiadat Negara; Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence as Co-Chairman of the 30th Civil Service Day Celebration's Executive Committee; Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohammed Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Yunos, Deputy Minister for Civil Service Governance at the Prime Minister's Office; and Awang Haji MOHAMAD Azmi bin Haji Mohd. Hanifah, Deputy Minister for Energy at the Prime Minister's Office as the Co-Deputy Chairmen of the Executive Committee for the Celebration.
Also in attendance were His Majesty's sons and brothers:
- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office:
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;
- His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah;
- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah;
- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.
The recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, State Mufti, was dedicated to Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien as well as departed government officers and staff.
The reading of Surah Ali 'Imran Verse 102 to 105 was presented by Pengiran Muhammad Amirul Aiman bin Pengiran Haji Marjuki, Education Officer at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Meanwhile, Awang Muhammad Tsuuifiy bin Haji Abd Wahab, Mosque Affairs Officer at the Ministry of Religious Affairs presented the verse's interpretation.
The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence in his welcoming remarks among other things highlighted the well-being of civil servants, and the civil servant's capacity building and competency programmes.
The theme of this year's celebration, 'Civil Service Resilience and Solidarity, the Catalyst of the Nation's Well-Being,' highlighted the transformation and paradigm shift in governance and services.
His Majesty watched a video that showcased this year's awards.
This year, the Department of Town and Country Planning received the certificate of recognition for achieving 3 stars under the Public Sector Performance Grading Programme, 3PSA based on the Financial Year 2022/2023.
The Silver Award for the Premier Innovation Award went to the Click and Bid project by 'Lakas dengan Klik!' Group, Land Transport Department, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications.
Meanwhile, the Bronze Award was presented to the Student Attendance Management System, SAMS Project by the Data and Technology Management Unit Group, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education.
44 officers and staff of Divisions 2, 3, 4 and 5 from every ministry received the Excellent Civil Service Employee Award.
Meanwhile, 9 staff members of Division 5 were awarded the Civil Service Staff Meritorious and Dedication Award.
Doa Selamat was read by the State Mufti.
