A frisky guinea pig named Randy, who broke into a pen and got 100 females pregnant, is now a proud father to 100 babies – and there are 80 more on the way.

The guinea pigs were born in the past four weeks at Hatton Country World, Warwick.

Expert Jess Middup, 18, from Kenilworth, said: ‘Randy’s back in his own pen but he’s still got a twinkle in his eye.

‘It’s been quite demanding having so many babies born so close together but we’ve all really enjoyed it and the visitors are flocking in to pet them.

‘The babies are all the colours of the rainbow and they seem to love the attention they’re getting.’

Staff at Country World don’t know how long Randy was running wild but estimated the playboy guinea pig had mated with around 100 females in June.

Jess added: ‘Randy has well and truly recovered from his exertions now and he’s enjoying fatherhood.’
