His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam, graced the Majlis Istiadat Berbedak Pengantin Diraja or Royal Powdering Ceremony for His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen and Yang Mulia Dayang Anisha Rosnah binti Adam. The ceremony took place on 10th January night, at the Balai Singgahsana Indera Buana, Istana Nurul Iman.

The arrival of His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri was preceded by the Penglima Diraja carrying the Pemuras dan Karga as well as the Penglima Asgar carrying the Kelasak dan Kampilan, accompanied by bearers of the Alat-Alat Perhiasan Tunggal.

Also in attendance were His Majesty's sons, brothers, daughters, and sister;

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah;

His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik, and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah;

His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah;

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah;

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah;

Also present were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah;

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah;

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah;

Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah;

Her Royal Highness Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah;

Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah;

And Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam.

Four Awang-Awang entered the function hall to light up the Dian Empat or four ceremonial candles. Followed by two Awang-Awang carrying the Kasur Namat, a cushion of yellow cloth laid upon a mat, placed in the centre of the Dian Empat.

Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Adanan sought consent and informed Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris that the Istiadat Menjunjung His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen was ready to proceed. Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib in turn informed His Majesty.

His Majesty in a titah gave the consent for His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; and the delegation under command to invite His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen to the Balai Singgahsana Indera Buana.

As soon as the delegation under command stood along the left and right sides of the aisle, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib sought audience with His Majesty.

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah sought consent to invite and accompany the Royal Bridegroom. His Royal Highness subsequently left the hall, followed by the delegation under command.

His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen proceeded to the Balai Singgahsana Indera Buana, accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah.

The delegation was preceded by 40 Sinipit or spears carried by Awang-Awang, followed by Juru Bini Dayang Hajah Rokiah, and two Hulubalang - a Hulubalang Diraja carrying the Pemuras dan Karga; and a Hulubalang Asgar carrying the Kelasak dan Kampilan.

A Dian Tunggal was carried by an Awang-Awang ahead of His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen, accompanied by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Penyurat Awang Maidin and Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Penyurat Haji Awang Osman.

As soon as His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen was seated in the designated seat, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan informed Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib that the Majlis Istiadat Berbedak Pengantin Diraja was ready.

Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib in turn informed His Majesty. His Majesty in a titah gave consent for the ceremony to proceed. The Istiadat Berbedak Pengantin Diraja commenced with the Zikir Syarafil Anam.

His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri were invited to lead the Istiadat Menculiki Bedak Diraja or Royal Powder Anointing Ceremony for His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen. 17 cannon shots were fired, indicating the start of the Istiadat Berbedak Pengantin Diraja.

The Istiadat Menculiki Bedak Diraja continued with His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah;

His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah;

His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah;

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah;

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah;

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah;

And Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah.

Followed by Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah and Datin Paduka Seri Dayang Hajah Mariam, mother of His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah AND Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah.

Also anointing the Royal Bridegroom were the parents of the Royal Bride, Yang Mulia Awang Adam and Yang Mulia Dayang Siti Mariam.

Doa selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah then sought consent to invite His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen to leave the Balai Singgahsana Indera Buana.
