The Hari Raya 'Idil Fitri celebration by Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah this year featured 750 students from local higher education institutions and volunteers who are active in various fields of volunteer and community activities. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam attended the celebration together with other members of the Royal Family. The ceremony took place at the International Convention Centre in Berakas. Upon arrival, His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri were greeted by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara as the First Deputy Chairman of the Yayasan Committee of Governors, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence as Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors; Members of the Yayasan Committee of Governors, Deputy Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors and the Acting Managing Director of Yayasan.

Also in attendance were:

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik, and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen, and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador At-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam.

 Doa selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

In his welcoming remarks, the Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors among other things touched on the active involvement of volunteers through the 'Whole of Nation Approach' which was in line with this year's celebration theme ' Membudayakan Belia Pemedulian Dan Prihatin'.

" Membangun Generasi Pemimpin: Membudayakan Belia Pemedulian Dan Prihatin", the title of the video clip, which among other things showed His Majesty's sons delivering sabda that bring inspirational messages to the youth, in volunteering and community activities

A stage performance by over 160 students of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah further enlivened the ceremony.

Organised for the 20th time, the celebration gave participants the opportunity to mingle with the much-loved Monarch.
