BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The Magistrate's Court handed out prison sentences yesterday to three burly young men who pleaded guilty last weekend to a series of housebreaking and burglary cases.

Muhammad Aiman bin Morni, 18, was sentenced to 15 months' imprisonment, while Muhammad Sahrul Hardi bin Muhammad Mustafa and Hairolazmie, both 19, were each sentenced to 12 months in prison.

The three men stole costlygadgets and a set of car keys from a house at BSP Housing Panaga in Seria around midnight on. April 14, before proceeding to steal a vehicle parked outside the house.

Earlier, on April 7, Muhammad Aiman had stolen some home electronic entertainment equipment and a jewellery set from another house in the same residential area.

DPP Vuina Song informed Senior Magistrate Lailatul Zubaidah binti Hussain that the police became aware of the burglaries through a report made by the stolen vehicle's owner.

Muhammad Aiman was apprehended on April 14, while driving the vehicle around with false licence plates.
His arrest immediately led to the apprehension of his two accomplices in the case.
