It Is An Offence For A Trailer To Make A U-Turn At A Prohibited Area

Following an incident that went viral on social media recently on a trailer belonging to Syarikat Archipelago that made a U-turn at a prohibited area that has caused the trailer unable to move swiftly, creating a long-queue at the road and can cause danger to road-users, the Land Transport Department has taken action on the company. 

 

According to Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal Bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Acting Director of Land Transport, the Land Transport Department has contacted the company and the driver was compounded according to the laws under Section 39 (1), Chapter 68 for not complying the road signs for the first offence. Apart from that the driver was also given a demerit (SiKAP) point and ordered to resist the driving test in accordance to the laws under 22, Chapter 68 namely can cause danger to other road users and if fail in the test, his driving license will be terminated. Motor Transport Licensing Authority, MTLA has given a written notice to the company to always abide by the traffic laws.
