Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) recently commemorated Isra' Mi'raj with a religious lecture held in Lecture Theatre 2 at the university.

Associate Professor Dr. Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB was the guest of honour at the event organised by the Student Affairs Section and the UTB Student Representative Council, according to a press release.

In his talk, Ustaz Muhammad Yusuf bin Haji Abdul Majid from the Ministry of Religious Affairs - and an alumnus of UTB - reflected on the valuable lessons from the miraculous event of Isra' Mikra'.

One of them is the importance of rising above the trials and challenges faced in life as a way of strengthening one's faith and general resolve. The daily prayers which were prescribed to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) during the Mikraj also train the mind to be focused and this can help in improving productivity.
