Local Man in Court for Instigating Theft

 August 12th, 2016  |  09:00 AM  |   1431 views

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The Magistrate's Court yesterday ordered a local man remanded further pending a pre-sentencing report from the prosecution in the case of instigating his friend to misappropriate a car.

Forty-one-year-old Nazzarul Shah bin Haji Sulaiman was ordered to come back to court on August 13, 2016.

Magistrate Hajah Ervy Sufitriana binti Haji Abdul Rahman heard that Nazzarul owed his friend Ahmad B$100 and told Ahmad to take 'his' car in the basement of Wisma Jaya building in the capital on June 8, 2016 as payment.

Ahmad took the car only to find out later that the police were looking for it as it had been stolen from its real owner.

Ahmad changed the registration number plate and abandoned the car along Jalan Tumasek, instead of reporting it to the police.

The police recovered the car which was identified by its owner.

Ahmad was sentenced last week.

DPP Vuina Song prosecuted the case.
