US Official Met With YSEALI Alumni

Shaarik Zatar, the United States (US) Department of State's Representative to Muslim Communities, yesterday met with the alumni of US government programmes and representatives of the media yesterday at Radisson Hotel, Bandar Seri Begawan.
Among the members of the alumni are Norhayatunajibah binti Haji Kifli, 2016 Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Professional Fellow and YSEALI TIES alumna; Amal Kasibah binti Bahari, Southeast Asia Youth Leadership Programme (SEAYLP) alumna and YSEALI alumna; Norzaidah Mardani, US university graduate and alumna; Siti Munawwarah binti Awang Tarif, YSEALI Professional Fellow alumna; Jay M Johar, English/Drama Teacher; and Muhammad Fadli bin Haji Awang Zaini, SEAYLP alumna.
Also present were Albar A Sheikh, Policy Advisor in the Office of Religion and Global Affairs, US Department of State; Mark. Dieker, Charge d'Affaires of the US Embassy in BruneiDarussalam; Allison Carragher, Acting Political, Economic, and Consular Chief of the US Embassy; and Iswandy Ahmad, Alumni Coordinator, US Embassy.
Shaarik Zafar was appointed as the special Representative to Muslim Communities at the US Department of State in July 2014.
He is responsible for driving US Secretary of State John Kerry's engagement with Muslim communities around the world on issues of mutual interest, in support of shared goals.
