Communication Minister Attended 76th Pakistan Day Celebration

The High Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Brunei Darussalam held a reception dinner in celebration of the 76th Pakistan Day yesterday at the Main Conference Hall of the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas.
Present as the guest of honour was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, Minister of Communications, and his spouse, who were greeted by Ahmed Ali Sirohey, the Acting High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam.
The reception began with the national anthems of both Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, followed by the recitation of Surahs from the Al-Quran.
The guests then viewed a documentary of Pakistan followed by a welcoming address by the acting high commissioner who highlighted that in-line with Pakistan's foreign policy, the country has maintained relations with Brunei with a cordiality that has manifested through multi-sectoral cooperation under the umbrella of bilateral joint commission, and most importantly through the Pakistan Brunei Investment Company.
"With a long and distinguished history, Brunei Darussalam represents stability and continuity in a region subject to rapid changes," added the acting high commissioner. "The country is an important player in the regional politics."
The reception continued with a cake-cutting ceremony carried out by the guest of honour, the acting high commissioner and their spouses, as well as a souvenir presentation by the acting high commissioner to the minister.
