More than 30 members of Telekom Brunei Berhad (TelBru)'s staff along with their families took to the roads of the capital yesterday in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 70th birthday celebrations as they cycled alongside other cycling enthusiasts from around the country.

From various levels throughout the organisation, the TelBru cycling team has been active since TelBru's corporatisation a decade ago in 2006 and boasts dozens of members most of whom took part in the 15km ride around thedesignated circuit.

Led by one of TelBru's most veteran members of staff, Senior Manager Awang Haji Roslan bin Guthman and also as chairman of TelBru Sports and Recreation Club (TSRC), expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) as well as other members of the organising committee for the privilege to take part in this prestigious national event. "The company's participation," he said, "emphasises the underlying message of the activity, and TelBru encourages its staff to lead active and healthy lifestyles.

"Not only does today provide us with the opportunity to appreciate our country, but it also stresses the importance of unity, patriotism and nationhood among TelBru staff in particular, and Bruneians in general."
