Media Conference On Latest COVID-19 Situation

234 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given to children aged 5 to 11 on 23rd May 2022, bringing the total first dose vaccinations administered to 78.8 percent. Meanwhile, 985 second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered to children in the same age group bringing the total second dose administered to children in this age group to 38.3 percent. This was stated by the Second Minister of Defence at the Media Conference on the latest COVID-19 Situation, yesterday afternoon.

 

Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof also informed that 69.7 percent of the country's population have received a third dose of the vaccine. Joining the media conference at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health were Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.

 

Yang Berhormat also said that 246 new cases were reported today, in which 245 were results from ARTs and 1 was from 454 RT-PCR lab tests performed. To date, Brunei Darussalam's total case is at 147,021. There are no cases in Categories 4 and 5. 223 cases have recovered, taking the total recovered cases to 145,166. In the meantime 1,621 cases remain active, whereby 12 cases are currently being treated in hospitals, and 1,621 are on home self-isolation.
