83 percent of the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to children aged 5 to 11, while 62.9 percent of the second dose were administered to children in the same age group. This was stated by the Minister of Health at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar stated that 71.4 percent of the country's population have received three doses of the vaccine. Joining the media conference was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.

390 new cases were reported yesterday, in which 382 were results from ART tests, and 8 were results from 339 RT-PCR laboratory tests. This brings the total cases in the country to 151,950. There are 2 cases in Category 4, while 312 cases have recovered, taking the total recovered cases to 148,922. There are 2,804 active cases, in which 15 are currently treated in hospitals, whereas 2 thousand 789 others are currently undergoing home self-isolation.

The Minister of Health stated that in the last few days, the number of COVID-19 cases reported in the country has shown a slight increase. This is as expected following the reduction of COVID-19 control measures starting the 1st of June 2022. The number of these cases is expected to be more stable in the near future. Hence, the public are advised not to feel anxious on the situation, where over 99 per cent of the cases are in categories 1 and 2.
