Celebrate Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry's 47th birthday by reading the Sister, Sister stars' most candid quotes about relationships, careers and the state of their bond.

You'll want to wish Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry a happy birthday on the double.

The Sister, Sister stars turned 47 years old July 6.

"It feels amazing," Tia said on the Tamron Hall Show May 29 about entering this new year. "I am continuing to grow and evolve. I am not the same person I was even five months ago."

And she's excited to see what's next.

"I’m embracing getting older as I see it as gaining wisdoms," the actress added. "So I love it here."

Of course, Tia still has plenty of love for her prior chapters too, including the six seasons she and Tamera were on their 90s sitcom. 

"I’m so grateful for this show and the experiences it has given me," Tia wrote on Instagram to mark Sister, Sister’s 30th anniversary in April 2024. "It was the first time I really believed in myself and my dreams."

While fans watched how Tia and Tamera’s characters were (Alexa, play the theme song), "shaking up the family tree with sibling synchronicity," internet users have been wondering if the twins are still just as in sync IRL.

Questions about the state of their bond started to arise last fall after a sneak peek at Tia’s reality series Tia Mowry: My Next Act dropped and showed her navigating her new chapter following her divorce from Cory Hardrict.

“Being alone has been the most challenging part of my divorce,” The Game star—who shares son Cree, 14, and daughter Cairo, 7, with the actor—said in the Sept. 20 teaser. “It’s times like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close, and I could pick up the phone and call her. But that’s just not where we are right now.”

As for their current status?

"We live in different places," Tia continued in the Oct. 4 premiere episode, noting her home in Los Angeles is about 400 miles from where Tamera lives in Napa Valley with husband Adam Housley and kids Aden, 12, and Ariah, 10. "We have our own families. We have our own wants and desires and needs. We have different lives now."

But when it came to her closeness comment, Tia insisted she was referring to their physical proximity and not the state of their relationship.

"What I meant by that is we as siblings are not as accessible to one another,” she told E! News in October, noting roles and families also keep them busy, “and that is beautiful and challenging at the same time.”

As for how Tamera felt about her sister’s remark? “I think that’s something you would have to ask her,” Tia added. “I don’t want to speak on behalf of my sister, but there’s nothing to say. We’re in this industry, we’re in this business, and we all know it’s very normal for people to take things out of context. And it’s a part of our life, and it is what it is, but that’s all.”

And as she enters her next act, it appears Tia didn’t feel the need to give Tamera a heads-up about My Next Act.

"It's normal for you not to tell everyone everything," she told the Associated Press Oct. 11. "It doesn't mean anything. There's nothing loaded. She's living her life, I'm living my life. We don't have to tell each other everything, and that's very normal."

Still, the two have made the occasional appearances on each other’s Instagrams through throwbacks to their movies and TV shows, birthday tributes and a New Year’s Eve shout-out featuring some of Tia’s "favorite moments from 2024," including a photo of her with Tamera. And a few months ago, Tia shared a "siblings appreciation post" praising Tamera and their brothers Tahj Mowry and Tavior Mowry.

"They’re the ones who see you through every phase of life—the humble beginnings, the big wins, the tough losses, and all the unforgettable milestones in between," she wrote in the March 4 message. "I’m so grateful to have Tamera, Tahj, and Tavior by my side through it all. Love you guys!”
