As a country where the majority do not use Arabic as a language of speech, there are challenges in broadening the confidence of youths in learning and understand the meaning of the teachings of Al-Quran. This is where the importance of increasing access to the translation of Al-Qur'an in a language that is easily understood by Muslims. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports underlined the matter at the Final of the National Youth Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran 1443 Hijrah/2022. Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad hoped that the cooperation in translation in Malay as the National Official Language will be strengthened and the translations will be easily accessed from all language and literature bureaus nationwide.
Four qaris and five qariahs, including Defending Champion in National Youth Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran 2021, presented their reading. Awang Haji Hazwan bin Haji Salim and Dayang Najla 'Sabreena binti Haji Abdul Majid emerged as champion in Qari and Qariah. Musabaqah is a programme organized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Also present was Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.
